nPA detailed review

Post by The-Purple-Orange » Mon Jun 04, 2018 9:38 pm

#Got this g0d nPA during one of the big sales he had awhile ago because I was curious about quality.

I don't live in PA or have a physical so take any of my criticisms with a grain of salt but I will be commenting on various aspects of the ID. If someone from PA that has seen a physical could comment on this stuff that would be great.

#Uncertainty Level: Medium (Fake in hand comparing with real scans and past instate reviews)

Uncertainty Level|Reason
:--|:--
High|Comparing with nothing (or BarBook)
Medium-High|Photos of fake comparing with real scans and past instate reviews
**Medium**|Fake in hand comparing with real scans and past instate reviews***
Medium-Low|Fake in hand comparing with physical U21 in hand
Low|Fake in hand comparing with physical O21 in hand

Communication n/a

I won't be commenting on g0d's communication because I didn't need to contact him for any of this but every time I have emailed him it's been a pretty timely response. OIS responded really fast to any of my PMs and was really helpful and friendly, shouldn't have any problems here for either.

***
Cost 9/10

So these are obviously both still pretty new so I'd say it's a good deal but I rated g0d high because of his insane group and promo prices when it comes to all of his IDs and because nPA is so new the quality isn't as big of a deal as it normally would be.

***
Shipping 7/10

g0d's shipping wasn't terrible, a little under a month.
***
#Stealth 10/10

g0d had great stealth, it serves its purpose for shipment, but might not get past nosy parents.

***
#Template 8/10

**NOTE**

nPA is an overlay state and may crease depending on how severely it is bent. I bent my g0d because I didn't care about it and it creased incredibly easily, only with the slightest bend.

Alright I'm going to do a bit of a different format than I normally do for this part because I know less about these IDs.

As far as pics go, I included some pics and some scans because I thought the colors were poorly represented on the scans. Specifically, the back of the g0d temp looks completely blank besides barcodes and text when the graphics are actually very clearly present.

**PROS:**

-Color matching looks pretty decent, blues are pretty close

-Micro is pretty good and is readable

-Overall template item placement is good, text placement is correct

-Lines are crisp and defined mostly

-The backside bottom graphics are good, colors are just a little off

-Blue ribbon that runs along bottom part of ID on front side looks pretty accurate, details in opacity were matched nicely on this portion.

**CONS:**

-A lot of graphics besides the ones made out of guilloche lines are just fuzzy and look a little washed out. Specifically, the right horse is hard to make out and that entire left graphic area is fuzzy.

-Text is too large and needs to be very slightly bolder

-Guilloche lines fade too late into blue at the bottom right of the ID. The fade should happen right below the middle of the picture.

-Yellows aren't dark enough and top left of the ID just needs work in general, there is another graphic there but it's hard to make out at all.

-As with all g0d barcodes, the 2D barcode is noticeably low res

-DLN and Birthdate in the upper left on the back of the ID is a little too high

-Text placement for vehicle restriction on back is maybe a little high and a little too far left and not bold enough

Photoshop 7/10

g0d didn't put in any ear shadows on mine and I wasn't able to get a reprint for it. Colors looks decent.

***
Holograms/OVI 8/10

OVI looks decent. Could be a little bit more vibrant I think but it's hardly noticeable. g0d's had a strange sort of smudging on the red OVI but it's nbd. Overall this part won't be a problem.

***
PERFS 9.5/10

Perfs look good but holes could be slightly larger. Don't take that part with too much weight tho, I'm not exactly sure what the real PA perfs should be like. No pics for this part because it'd be useless since I'd be censoring like the whole thing as the perfs cover the ghost pic.

***
UV 0/10?

Sorry for the shit pic.

Pretty sure he's fixed this by now, but there is just a raised clear pattern in place of the UV. Sort of weird. Maybe it's just my light?

***
Scanning 10/10
Yep

***
Signature 10/10

Looks great, only thing is that it could be a little bigger.

***
Conclusion 8/10

Overall this is a solid east coast ID, wouldn't recommend instate use but anywhere else that isn't too strict should be just fine. Lmk if you want more pics or info I'd be happy to provide it.

ehhh appreciate the time you took to make this, but this is the problem with only comparing with barbook- you can't see how exactly the ID looks physically. the biggest thing about the nPA is that it has a plastic laminate overlaid over it that doesn't quite reach the edges on each corner (exactly like ID, nMS, NJ, nNH etc). other problems are color matching (g0d's nPA is a little too dark blue overall).

Gotcha, yeah I initially mentioned the laminate thing back when I posted this as a comparison review with OIS nPA on a different site but I took that part out because I wasn't sure. Colors are super hard to compare with just barbook pics for sure.
